Winter in Osaka
Winter in Osaka is a comfortable place because the snow is not too intense and thick, there are many activities you can do to enliven your Christmas and New Year holidays here:

Winter in Osaka (December-February) is cold but not too extreme for vacationing. Snow rarely falls.

Average temperatures range from 5-8°C. January is the coldest month with an average temperature of around 6°C.

It is a good idea to bring layers such as sweaters, heavy coats or down jackets, scarves, and gloves. The days are usually bright with warm sunshine even though it is cold.

Enjoy winter illuminations: Osaka is famous for its beautiful winter light displays, such as the Osaka Hikari Renaissance and the Osaka Castle Illumination.

Try winter cuisine: Don’t miss out on hot dishes like oden or fugu (pufferfish) hot pot. You can also find a variety of winter snacks in Dotonbori.

Ice skating at Namba Parks: You can go ice skating in the open air of Namba Parks.

Snow is rare, so you don’t have to worry about slippery roads due to heavy snow.

Crowds can increase especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays, so book accommodation and attraction tickets well in advance if possible.
